🕺 Hugo
Hugo lived his whole childhood in Rio de Janeiro and studied in several dance schools since he was 13, before focusing seriously on Brazilian Zouk and Samba de Gafieira in the renowned school of Renata Peçanha. From 2012, Hugo started teaching Brazilian ballroom dances. In 2013, he assisted Renata Peçanha in teaching at her school before leaving to continue on his own path. In April 2015, he participated in a ballroom dance competition in Rio de Janeiro where he helped Viviane Soares dance Brazilian Zouk and Samba de Gafieira and helped her place 1st in the competition. He went on to teach at various Brazilian and European events and travels in Europe teaching ever since.
💃 Gaëlle
Originally from France, Gaëlle has spent years refining her Zouk technique and sharing it with dancers across Europe. She has taught at numerous festivals and regular classes, and her teaching style is known for being friendly, detailed, and empowering. Together with Hugo, she brings a unique blend of Brazilian authenticity and European finesse to every lesson, helping students grow confidently in Zouk.
During the Class You Will
✅ Learn the basics of zouk. This is the base of everything. To become a desired partner on the dance floor you need to master the rhythm of music and step to the beat with confidence.
✅ Meet new people. Social dancing is truly for everyone looking to build new amazing connections. We're all in the beginner class to learn together, laugh together, and get out of our everyday routine. It doesn't matter if you're coming with your spouse or completely alone - by the end of the trial class, we've all made new friends.
✅ Build your confidence. We know that everyone can significantly boost their confidence by learning a skill that makes you more attractive - dancing. From the first steps you take, you'll see how easy it suddenly is to talk with strangers.
✅ Relieve stress and anxiety. Studies show that people who are dancing live a longer and happier life. Why is that, you might ask? Dancing helps to reduce stress, make you sleep better, and release a lot of "happiness" hormones to your body. Combining fun physical exercise with some mind work can do wonders.
